I agree with Andy Nicholas that he should be able to charge for ShrinkIt GS. 
He has spent an incredible amount of time on it and it's his right.  However,
It would be VERY nice if he would release into the public domain a version
of ShrinkIt GS that is only capable of UnShrinking.  That way everyone could
handle ShrinkIt GS archives.  It would also make an impressive demo and
I imagine it would serve to increase sales of ShrinkIt GS.
