As soon as I got the printer, I did a test to determine which of the many compatible printer drivers provided the best output. I found three (Epson LQ-1500, Star NB-15, Epson LX-80) that provide superior output. However, none of them performed perfectly. I was told to get a copy of PrintDriverPatcher by George Wells. This program looks like what I need, but the documentation proved next to useless. Is there anyone out there who knows about printer drivers and who could tell me how I could go about patching these drivers? This is what I would like to do: - Set the page length of the LX-80 driver to that of the LQ-1500 driver. - Change the NLQ control codes (escape codes for bold, italics, subscript, superscript, etc.) for all 3 drivers. - Whenever I print in High Quality mode with the NB-15 driver, it reduces everything to about 1/2 of its normal size. Does anyone know how I could go about turning the reduction off? - Finally, how can I create a LaserMatrix driver compatible with the LQ-1500 driver? Thanks in advance, Ben Wildasin And yes, I would vote in favor of a comp.binaries.cbm. And how about a comp.os.geos? ****************************************************** * InterNet: * COLE'S LAW: * * bwildasi@silver.bacs.indiana.edu * Thinly sliced * * indp0080@iubacs * cabbage. * ******************************************************
