I would say "early next year" but I'm not, so don't quote me on it. They will be available with HPIB and SCSI interfaces. Your capacity and transfer rate info looks about right. Don't know the prices yet. The drives are the product of a collaboration between HP and SONY. They are intended to replace quarter inch and low-end half inch technologies for backup, data interchange, and whatever else you use 'em for.
