The problem is that when I print a file, it gives two carriage returns for every one in the text. Thanks in advance bundy wist@eniac.seas.upenn.edu /* End of text from techsup:comp.sy.ibm.pc */ There is a DIP switch on the main logic board that is documented in the Service Manual. Position 3 open causes a CR to generate a line feed also Position 3 closed causes CR to cause a CR only Position 4 open causes CR to be disregarded aftera LF or CR Position 4 closed causes CR to NOT be disregarded. Sounds like switch 3 is what you need. The Service manual can be ordered from a local store or direct from Tandy Consumer parts (with a credit card). Their number is 817-870-5600. Gary K
