The Zenith probably does this, which is why you can use an 80287-8 safely. There's no advantage to using a higher-rated 80287; it'll still be run at 8Mhz, and an 80287-10 (or higher) running at 8Mhz is no faster than an 80287-8 running at 8Mhz.
