My external 800k floppy drive has been trouble free through
6 months of light-to-moderate use (I don't have a hard disk).

An Ehman telephone rep said that Ehman makes some of Cutting Edge's
hard drives; Ehman sells its name brand direct for cheaper
and with better warrantee than Cutting Edge, which appears to be available
only through the mail-order houses.

Ehman products have been discussed on the net often--browse back a few weeks
and you'll no doubt find some postings.
