We've noticed a very high failure rate for brand new disks. These are brand-new IBM-labeled disks. I don't know who makes them. About 20-30% of these disks fail after being reformatted a few times. In a development environment, its merely annoying (and expensive). If we were delivering customer software on these puppies, it would be a whole lot more serious.
