Keywords: diskette drive, alignment, hmmmm Message-ID: <553@unix386.Convergent.COM> Date: 16 Oct 89 16:16:33 GMT Organization: Unisys/Convergent, San Jose, CA Lines: 17 I swapped a head stepping motor from one 400K disk drive into another and am now having alignment problems. I assumed that the optical sensor that detects the head's home position would take care of this. Apparently not. By rotating the position of the motor body, I can get the disk to read any disk, in time, but I am having a difficult time getting it to read all my disks and initialize new ones all at the same time. Does anyone out there know the correct procedure for making this adjustment? If not, how about a cheap drive? Anyone have one of those for sale? Whether I fix this one or not, I am also in need of an internal diskette drive mounting bracket (the metal box piece). Thanks in advance for any advice or leads. Reply to address below.
