Physics Dept., W. Lafayette, IN Lines: 22 The verdict: good. I've had a Practical Peripherals brand 2400 baud modem for almost a year now. Why do I feel compelled to write about it now? It just broke and I sent it in for repairs. I've had a little problem with line noise, but everyone else I know in the department has had similar problems. Maybe it's the phone system, maybe it's the receiving modem on the phys computer. However, I was impressed by their service. This $150 modem comes with a five year warranty. My modem began having problems hanging up the line. I hadn't sent in my registration card, which was no problem at all. I got it back in less than three weeks. The tech support people were friendly. What else can I say? I can't really judge the true quality of the modem due to problems given above, but their service was excellent. Hayes compatible. -Sho -- sho@physics.purdue.edu <<-- walking advert.
