A few months back there was a long discussion of the
benefits/drawbacks of using alloca.  I read it with interest, but
didn't save it and now that I really want to know more I find that I
didn't save it.  Did anyone keep an archive of that discussion?  Can
you point me to it/share it with me.

I am specifically interested about alloca on MIPS cpus.
