Lines: 17 Why does the NeWS server need to be set uid to root? We have changed it on one of our machines an have not run into any problems yet. On another note, we are trying to come up with a way to change the standard console login screen, to a more interesting display. We want to have a graphics (gl) program running in the background. This will mean a NeWS server will have to be run after someone logs out. Is there a way to do this cleanly and elegantly? (i.e no massive system hacks) Email-reply is fine, If there enough response I'll post a summary.
