Here in the Astronomy department, we have LOTS and LOTS of reel-to-reel
2400-foot tapes, some written at 1600 BPI and some at 6250 BPI. We are
considering getting some Sun Sparcstations, but we need to have a tape
drive that can read and write to such tapes. Does anyone know of a source
for such a tape drive? Or even a tape drive that works on older Sun
workstations? Vendor references, rough prices, and/or personal comments
all accepted gratefully.
