I want to use the user data structure 'u'. (I want to find the parents pid by using u.u_procp->p_ppid, from an ordinary program). I think I have included all the required files. Is there any library that I have to link my program with? Or, as I hope not, can all this be got only from kernel code (device drivers?) ? On a related note, can anybody guide me to a book written on using lower level unix structures? Well, I know that this posting must have gone to one of those unix groups, but I normally read only comp.unix.ultrix, and hopefully there are a lot of ULTRIX people who are UNIX gurus. Thanking you in adv., --Ravi- (Ignoramus Blissfullus)
