We are not in flames. We have about 200 unix boxes at this site alone and we didn't lose a single one due to the quake (HP quality plug). Silicon valley didn't get hit that hard since most of the building are newer and I guess the ground is a little firmer here. San Francisco, Oakland, Los Gatos, Santa Cruz and Watsonville were hit the hardest, and Silicon Valley suffered a minimum of damage compare to what you see on the front page. Unfortunately, the media will show the worst and then print a headline such as "Massive Quake Devastates S.F.". Driving to work this morning I saw one sign which was knocked down and no other damage. However, I live about two miles from downtown Los Gatos and it looks like a war zone. >Our thoughts are with you, people. Good luck. Let the nets know if >there is anything it can do for you. > Thanks for caring. There are a lot of people in need. ---------- John
