Message-ID: <1989Oct29.155322.25734@telly.on.ca> Date: 29 Oct 89 15:53:22 GMT Distribution: can Organization: Telly Computing, Brampton, Ontario Lines: 26 In the foreseeable future I will likely be in the position to register a domain for the Canadian branch of a large non-profit organization. To my knowledge, none of the organization's offices in the rest of the world are on any computer net (though that may change ;-). So here's the question: Is it more appropriate to register them as .orgname.CA or .can.orgname.ORG My authority to act will be soley from the Canadian HQ, but I don't want to do anything now that will impede the group's ability to easily expand its communications network later. For what it's worth: forwarders are not an issue. They just want all Canadian mail going through a central machine, and don't necessarily want to advertise their internal net to the world. Thanks for any comments. -- Evan Leibovitch, Telly Computing, located in beautiful Brampton, Ontario evan@telly.on.ca / uunet!attcan!telly!evan If you're smart enough to be a programmer, you're too smart to be a programmer
