It also has a batch-style equivalent of anonymous ftp, called getfile. These capabilities seem extremely valuable. Many people expect that ACSnet will continue to run over TCP/IP when Australia has a real Australia-wide IP network, just to provide these capabilities. Yet these capabilities could easily be implemented on top of TCP/IP. I wish someone would do it. Bob Smart
