Keywords: ibm ansi bsd4.2 termcap Message-ID: <2922@nigel.udel.EDU> Date: 30 Oct 89 19:15:09 GMT Sender: usenet@udel.EDU Reply-To: cayz@udel.edu () Distribution: usa Organization: Educational Studies, University of Delaware Lines: 27 Howdy All, I have just gotten KA9Q to work _beautifully_ with my local unix box, a Vax running 4.2 (4.3?) BSD. I am using NANSI.SYS on the XT, and a nansipc termcap that Phil Karn was very gracious to send me (Thanx Phil!!). However, I have hit another snag... The local VMS machines don't support "nansi". If I try vt100, I don't get screen clears (ie, the screen doesn't do a clear to bottom, and the new text overwrites the previous screen, and looks real horrible.). If I change my config.sys on the XT to use the ibm-supplied "ansi.sys", it works like a Champ!!! But, then back to the unix box and vi looks horrible again........ So, in short, does anyone use KA9Q with "ansi.sys" from IBM on a Unix box, and if so, what termcap do you use, and can you send me a copy of it (I don't care if I get a "standard one", because I have found that "standards" often change between machines :-) :-) :-) .... Thanx for your help in advance!
