I dunno where the help file has gone to, but to define personal aliases,
just create a file called ~/.AMS_aliases and put each alias/expansion
pair on a separate line, e.g.

datri convex!convex.com!datri@uunet.uu.net
borenstein nsb@thumper.bellcore.com

As of the next release (Messages 7.XX) you will be able to also specify
how to handle Andrew formatting in outgoing mail by using the aliases
file; the following line, for example, would say that mail to me can
always be sent in multimedia format, without the dialog box asking if
that is OK:

$forcesend nsb@thumper.bellcore.com
