In trying to speed it up, I ended up recoding a bit of it into assembly, and finally did get it to go about 2 times faster decompressing. Unfortunately, for what I wanted it for, that wasn't nearly fast enough. I would REALLY like to get a copy of that optimized version (source) you have. My 8086 is a little rusty, but it would come in pretty handy to know what tricks they used that I didn't think of. (Especially since I don't know exactly how the thing works!)
