To do this it was necessary to write in a special menu description language a file and compile it with the Mentor Graphics "MISL" Compiler. The genorated code was then included or read by the NETED startup files in /idea/sys .... MISL is documented as part of NETED, but if I remember correctly there only a few pages of information.
