It does check it's pre sence when booting and when loading the finder, but it's icon isn't displayed, nor can I access it from GS/OS aplicaitions (I can from P8 aplicaitions). It wa s sugested to me that the directory structure is damaged in some way. This seem s reasnable, but how do I check/fix it ? Mr. Fixit reports "no errors" and as f ar as I checked with a block editor, nothing seems wrong. What are the bytes in the directory header that are marked "reserved" in the ProDOS 16 manual now us ed for (I noticed it is used now) ? Another unrelated question: My Apple 3.5 drive fails to format anymore. Th e finder, as well as Copy II+, says "format failed". I checked the drive on oth er GSs as well as Macs and allways get "format failed". The local dealer said I have to replace the 3.5 motherboard (an 80$ replacement), can there be any oth er posible reason ?
