Apple used the 1989 Worldwide Developers Conference to state *direction* of System Software, not to announce it. It is apparent that Apple feels System 7.0 is very important to the future of the company, and it was necessary to give developers some idea of where we are headed in the early 1990s. This was a first in company history, and it was stated that we wanted to do more of it with developers. You might see some of that "more" with Apple II developers, but it probably won't happen unless there are major *direction* changes with the Apple II line. As long as the direction stays the same, you probably won't see statements like that made in a public forum. -- Mark B.
