Any ST with a double sided drive (ie: a 1040ST or a 520ST with a secound DS

No. A double sided drive can read, write, and even formate a single sided
disk.

The ST video is analog RGB. ST monochrome monitor scan frequency requirements
are a bit so you will either need a multi-sync monitor or the Atari monitor.

Someone else will have to answer that. I don't know anyting about sysex.
