George, You can use Design Software's DSGEN, a generic backup tool for MS-DOS based machines. It's cheap (around $50) and works on any generic DOS machine. DSGEN packs a floppy full (i.e. uses it's own format) and allows single file restore. It's also quite fast compared to DOS backup. The program DSGEN.COM is included in a package called DSBACKUP and is available at Egghead software stores. I would call Design Software in Chicago to make sure DSGEN is still included with the latest package; the one I bought is about 4 years old. -George, 102/138- --- msged 1.998v * Origin: Western Region VAX EC, RAINBOW/PDP-11 Echo Hub (1:102/138.1) ------------------------------ Date: 10-27-89 (05:05) Subject: FOUND TRACTOR FOR DECW4 From: DON MARQUART > ARE YOU OFFERING A DW IV 4 SALE? Van, believe if you check it out you will find that Uniform supports both the CP/M and MS-DOS formats for the Rainbow. Been using it here for years and it's great. You must have the required drives installed in the system before the various menu selections will appear on the selection menu. Just got the recent upgrade to v2.16 and believe that there are 13 menus available if you have all drive types installed. > I don't know about Xenocopy. Got it here somewhere, will try to take a look at it and see if it covers the Rainbow.
