Haven't encountered this with a hard disk, but maybe if you delete the volume label and then try copying the system ????? Of course, you can always do it the long way - I backup and low level format the 10 meg hard disk on the machine at home about every 6-8 months, so that's what I usually do for a DOS upgrade.
