My father is interested in purchasing a laser printer for his office to
replace his Imagewriter LQ. Specifically, he is interested in the GCC
Business Laser Printer and the Qume Crystal Print Publisher both of which
he says he can get for about $3,000. I would like e-mail info on individual
experiences (pros and cons) on these printers.

As an alternative, he is considering getting the less (<$1000) expensive 
HP Deskwriter. What does he give up (eg. ink jet quality versus laser quality,
postscript  imaging versus what?, speed and noise trade-off, etc).
