They are on an ethernet with a central fileserver; the machines themselves have a single 1.44M floppy but no hard disk. The problem we have run into is that most mac applications seem not to be shareable; once a client machine runs the application, other machines on the network are prevented from launching that application--the application is "busy". One exception to this is Microsoft Word, but it is truly an exception. Does anyone know of a general solution to this problem? We are using Novell network software at present, but I do not believe that this problem is unique to Novell--rather it seems to be a feature of appleshare.
