AWinDef does this.  It installs a replacement WDEF which changes the grow box:
single-click it to shrink the window to an icon or double-click to zoom it.
It seems to work okay, although I've noticed that the cursor changes according
to the original window position and not the icon.  (I can stand that to un-
clutter my SE screen....)

I can send it to c.b.m if anyone wants it.  (Which reminds me:  I'm sending
the Cheq PS font to c.b.m this afternoon.)
