We have been using CDC Sabre disks on our suns at Ampex. It would probably be best to use either a Xylogics 451, Xylogics 753, or Xylogics 7053 disk controllers. The advantages of using these controllers is that SunOS directly supports them. I've heard some good things about controllers that emulate a Xylogics for the initial boot, but I don't use them so I don't feel qualified to comment on them. I have heard that 753 and 7053 are better controllers to use with the 850 and 1.2G disks. We're using the 753 with ours. Feel free to leave me e-mail if you have any specific questions.
