The Suns were a recent addition, and all the users are firmly entrenched in VMS mode (I personally was glad to get away from the restrictive VMS environment, I started out programming in a UNIX/BSD environment). One of the biggest complaints from my user community is about the editors available on the Sun-4 (VI and the mouse-based TEXTEDIT). Are there any other editors available for the Sun-4 in the public domain? (An EMACS look-alike would be great.) Ed's Note: Gnuemacs (the Free Software Foundation version of Emacs) is probably the editor of choice to use if you want a Emacs lookalike. You can FTP it from host 'prep.ai.mit.edu' (directory pub/gnu). I think at this point the latest distribution is 18.55. Lt.
