For my thesis I wanted to include a large chunk of program code in a
verbatim enviroment, in an appendix. I \input-ted the file with the
code which had the usual \begin{verbatim} etc at either end.  This
program was in section C.3. The next section, i.e after the program
code had been added was than numbered 3.4 and the following appendices
were numbered 4 and 5 :-( 
The program code did contain latex statements
as it outputted the results as a latex table but there were no
\begin{verbatim} or \end{verbatim} statements.
Any ideas what may have gone wrong?
