Keywords: scsi, device-drivers, xenix Message-ID: <253@sea375.UUCP> Date: 25 Oct 89 01:32:55 GMT Distribution: usa Organization: At Home in Seattle, WA Lines: 19 I am looking for a vendor of a SCSI interface that will support SCO Xenix on a Compac 286-based system. I am primarily interested in disk drive support and want to use at least 2 Syquest 44MB Cartridge Drives(SCSI) in a system. The systems may utilize one or both of the installed drives during operation, depending on database capacity required. The SCSI disk driver must be able to support a system rooted on a SCSI disk and direct booting of the SCSI disk is preferred. If a boot floppy is required that would be acceptable also. There will be no fixed hard disk installed. I have 8 systems that need this configuration. I will be using an Adaptec 1542 SCSI Interface on several 386-based systems and would like to use it on 286 also. According to Compac Inc, it will not work on a Deskpro-286, can anyone confirm this?
