Fargo) Newsgroups: comp.unix.xenix Subject: Xenix and two hard disks/Pcomm problems Summary: Getting DOS from Xenix : Pcomm file transfer problem Keywords: DOS, hard disks, Pcomm Message-ID: <1989Oct29.072818.7544@rpi.edu> Date: 29 Oct 89 07:28:18 GMT Organization: Fargo HQ, Inc. Lines: 30 Please ignore my last question about Xenix and two hard disks. It was a bug in IBM Xenix. Switching to SCO solved my problems. :) But now, to ask a question that I'm sure has been asked before: How do I access DOS files on my second hard disk? When I try dosdir on /dev/hd10 - /dev/hd1d and on /dev/rhd10 - /dev/rhd1d, all I get is the error: dosdir: can't open /dev/hd10 Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I forgot to do? I can read DOS files fine from the floppies, but that's extremely inconvenient for moving files between the two disks. Also, I just recently (about half an hour ago) got the public domain program Pcomm (thank you Emmet P. Gray) working under Xenix. But, I am now having problems doing XMODEM transfers from my college account to my Xenix machine. I've been able to do XMODEM transfers to and from my college account before using ProComm + under DOS. Has anyone else been experiencing problems like this? Can anyone recommend a solution? Please no answers like "Go by " as I'm trying to stay away from negative money flows. :) Thanks much. -- Thank you and happy hunting! Actually: Ethan M.
