ASP (A Systems Publications) has announced a volume 4 of their X series (volumes 1 and 2 are the official MIT/DEC manuals reprinted, 3 is widgets) to cover Motif. They're uncertain when it will come out. > 2) Does anyone know the new phone # for Nutshell Books (O'Reilly) > and when the rumored XToolkit and MOTIF volumes might be > forthcoming? Their main phone number has stayed the same (1-800-338-NUTS). If that doesn't work for you, you're probably in California and want to use 1-800-533-6887. They have no idea when volumes 4 and 5 (volumes 1 and 2 are cleaned up reprints of the official manuals, 3 is a users guide, 0 is for the X Network Protocol) are going to come out. They won't even take backorders for them, which indicates that they're way, way, way out there. On the other hand, they may show up tomorrow. The first we knew that there was going to be a volume 0 was when we opened up a box and (suprise!) there was a copy. When we called down to ask what was going on, and why there wasn't even a hint that it was going to come out (we like to announce books in our news- letter before they come out), we were told that it was quite a surprise to the people there as well... I assume that this is due in part to the confusion when they moved a chunk of the company from Massachusetts to California and that things will settle down soon. They do do nice (as in useful, not necessarily "pretty") books ... -- James Deibele jamesd@qiclab BBSs: (503) 760-1473 or (503) 761-7451 TECHBooks: The Computer Book Specialists --- Voice: (503) 646-8257 12600 SW 1st Beaverton, OR 97005 --- Are you on our mailing list?
