A subset of the X Consortium members are sponsoring development of a sample implementation of PEX. Target date for public release is around the end of 1990. The PEX protocol specification is still undergoing modifications, as the implementation turns up problems. Is there any implementation existed yet? I believe Digital has a product out using a subset of PEX. I am not aware of any other commercial implementations at this time, but your best bet is to contact vendors. For reference, here are the companies sponsoring the PEX effort: Data General Corp. Digital Equipment Corp. Evans and Sutherland Fujitsu Limited Hewlett-Packard Company (with Apollo) International Business Machines, Inc. Network Computing Devices, Inc. Open Software Foundation Solbourne Computer Inc. Sony Corp. Stardent Sun Microsystems Inc. Tektronix Inc. UNICAD Inc.
