I'm in desperate need of information about supporting
GNU emacs on a VAX 8700 running VMS 5.2. I'd like to
use GNU CC, I have a VMS version of release 1.36 that
I got from prep.ai.mit.edu. I have a Unix distribution
of GNU emacs release 18.55.

I've installed emacs with the VAX C compiler, the results
are less than satisfactory. The main problems are flakey
initialization and corrupted screen display.

Can some help? Where is a good archive of VMS changes to
emacs?
