The 'server' program aborts when I try to run it. I attempted to debug it with gdb, which didn't work because I had used dynamic linking. I rebuilt 'server' with -Bstatic, and it ran correctly. I assume this means that the method of linking critically affects this bug. Does anyone know why this might be?
