R & D, Schenectady, NY Lines: 31 I have a strange problem with 18.55 and Sun 2's I have no problem building on Sun3 or Sun4, but I can't get a working emacs on a Sun 2. What happends is that I do a make clean and a make, and the make reports: ... Loading version.el... Finding pointers to doc strings... Finding pointers to doc strings...done Dumping under names xemacs and emacs-18.55.15 And I get the results grymoire% file *emacs* emacs-18.55.15: data emacs-18.55.7: sparc demand paged executable not stripped emacs-18.55.9: mc68020 demand paged executable not stripped emacs.c: English text emacs.o: mc68010 executable not stripped temacs: mc68010 demand paged executable not stripped xemacs: data As you can see - the emacs file is marked "data" and not an executable. The temacs file works. It seems the undump process isn't working correctly. Any clues? I think this is SunOS 4.0.3 -- Bruce G. Barnett uunet!crdgw1!barnett
