I agree that in light of recent events we should sit down and tighten up definitions and procedures. I disagree that it'll do any good, because the only times there have been any serious problems with the hierarchy definitions have been times when people have chosen to either ignore them or re-define them in arbitrary, politica ways to match their notions of what they want the outcome to be [references: comp.society.women, sci.aquaria. your mileage may vary] So we can define things all we want.
