Rn, as currently compiled, can't handle .newsrc files with 538 lines, so we typically delete the entries for unsubscribed groups. Some of us have no problems with this method, but others get the obnoxious "BEEP newsgroup foo does not exist!" messages for each group our site doesn't receive. Why do some have this problem but not others? Is there a workaround short of recompling rn? I'll probably go ahead and recompile it anyway, but I'd like to understand what's happening. I tried scanning the source, but it didn't pop right out at me and I'm not *that* curious. Dave Sill (dsill@relay.nswc.navy.mil)
