[Unless my Spanish translation skills have decayed more than I think they have (because we said the pledge only in Spanish class, I tend to remember in it Spanish), it is "one nation, under God, indivisible". Of course this is still a religious assertion, though perhaps wider in the scope of religions it would consistent with. There are Christians who have problems with it for other reasons: it seems to be part of the tendency to turn patriotism into a civil religion, with the flag as its holy icon. --clh]
