[I would have mailed this direct to commodore, but I am not sure who to contact
there about this:]

A friend of mine has an older amiga 500, and it has the weaker power supply.
Of course it is out of waranty now.

He wasn't aware of the fact (about the power supplies), until I mentioned it to
him. Now he would like to upgrade it.

I seem to remember something about commodore having some kind of swap deal,
weak power supplies for heavy duty ones. But since I have a 1000, I didn't pay
much attention to it. 

Is there still such a swap? Is it free, or is there a charge?

Any details will be appreciated.
