I've had QB for about 6 months and occasionally have a DEVIL of a time getting it to work correctly. I always do complete backups of my 40M and sometimes QB will mis-estimate the number of disks that it will take. Doesn't sound like too big a problem? Well, QB will just hang there, sometimes saying that it's now working on volume 7 of 6. To circumvent this problem I either have to delete some files or add new ones. My opinion is that it is not figuring the storage space required for its directory but I can't confirm this. I've called CCS 4 times: 1) To report the problem several months ago and was told that this wasn't possible. 2) To call back a month or so later to be told that no one could work on it because they were getting ready for a computer show (this was in Jul 1989) and that someone would call me back in Sept. 3) To call back in Oct to be told that someone would get back to me within a few days 4) To call back 1 week later to be told that the programmer was delayed during his trip and would be happy to call me once he returns...would I please give my phone number? Now I've been in support for most of my professional career and have NEVER asked for a phone number 4 times (especially if I've NOT returned a call 3 times). Further, this problem is getting serious (at least to me) since I can rarely do a complete backup anymore without adding or deleting files. I've pretty much decided to take my business elsewhere (too bad I can't take back the money I gave them when I bought the product). -- Tony Sumrall acs@pccuts.pcc.amdahl.com <=> amdahl!pccuts!acs [ Opinions expressed herein are the author's and should not be construed to reflect the views of Amdahl Corp. ]
