Flicker is not acceptable in many environments which need at least 16 colors, on each scanline. Also gets rid of the (to me) very annoying gap between scanlines. So in summary for many people fliker in hires modes is no problem and the gap between scanlines is acceptable, for many the new 640X480 X 4 color productivity mode will be all they will ever need, BUT speaking for myself and many others there is a need for 16 color HiRes interlaced displays with NO flicker so the flicker fixer does serve a purpose for many users/developers. -Roger Uzun UUCP: {hplabs!hp-sdd ucsd nosc}!crash!pnet01!uzun ARPA: crash!pnet01!uzun@nosc.mil INET: uzun@pnet01.cts.com
