Message-ID: <11079@cbnews.ATT.COM> Date: 3 Nov 89 13:50:50 GMT Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories Lines: 19 Hello Netters. I have a DMA requirement coming up and I'd like to learn about DMA programming for high speed analog input scanning. I know it's rather hardware dependent and I do have the hardware reference manuals which explain the registers for DMA. What I want first is a programmers point of view introduction to DMA. A whole chapter in a book devoted to DMA programming for PC's (286/386) would be most useful. I know that the analog input card vendors supply C and ASM interface libraries for their products; the point is to learn more about DMA capabilities and limitations __before__ I commit to one vendors product. Maybe DMA just isn't as complicated as I'm trying to make it.... Thanks. Ed Holdgate att!mvgpl!mveh2 mveh2@cbnews.att.com
