I have a strange problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with, I recently reformatted my hard disk with DOS 3.3 and now for some reason, the computer thinks it has 6 disk drives (A - F). I have 3, two 5.25 floppies and a 20 meg HD. I'm running Norton Commander 2.0 and when I switch drives, it gives me a choice of A - F, if I try to pick one of the upper three, NC says that the drive is unaviable. I ran Norton Disk Doctor on the drive and it fixed a problem with the partition table, but there are still 6 drives listed. Also, when I tried to use FASTOPEN, it said that drive C was not a hard disk. Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Where does the computer find what equipment it has on startup? My computer is not a true blue, just a cheap clone, could the BIOS be causing a problem? Thanks for any help or advice anyone can offer. By the way, I was useing DOS 3.2 before and it never gave me problems... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Cooper | Stress: The confusion created when the NU115247@NDSUVM1.BITNET | mind overrides the bodies desire nucooper@plains.nodak.edu | to choke the living shit out of (701) 235-6315 | asshole who desperately needs it.
