Hypertext has been around for a whole long time, of course. Hypercard is revolutionary because it is the first product to bring the idea to some sort of fruition --- the first commercial application. The entire Macintosh interface was created years before Apple created the Mac, but that doesn't make the Mac any less revolutionary.
