IBM file i'm reading in with the FileToField XCMD.  the linefeeds show
up as boxes in the field.  if i choose another tool, or most anything
from the menu bar, the field contents get updated (the linefeeds are
removed)  but if i try a doMenu or choose a tool from within a button
script, it won't work.
