Message-ID: <8939@hoptoad.uucp> Date: 8 Nov 89 09:20:47 GMT Organization: Grasshopper Group in San Francisco Lines: 18 I just saw a wierd article in this week's InfoWorld about AT&T and OSF having high level discussions about how to merge the Unix worlds. Apparently as something that OSF could contribute, it looks like AT&T will be dropping Open Look in favor of Motif? (OSF hasn't done much else that AT&T might want...) There was also a sentence about OSF members buying into the AT&T Unix Software Operation (perhaps to make it less controlled by AT&T, they will make it a separate company and sell stock to other companies). What a shame, now that Open Look is free and available, and Motif is expensive and not shipping... Corrections to these obviously wild-eyed rumors welcomed. -- John Gilmore {sun, pacbell, uunet, pyramid}!hoptoad!gnu gnu@toad.com Just say *yes* to drugs. Use your *no*s for government bullshit.
