I am still kind of fuzzy on this port thing still so here are a few more questions (remember you volunteered ;-) ): - If I start up an X client on another machine and display it on my machine (say an HP to an Apollo), does the information come through an IP port? If so is it this 6000+N port number you spoke of? When you mentioned display number, do you mean like 'bcara2:0' where 0 is the display number or is there another display number I don't know about? - There seems to be a lot of neato coolo stuff at EXPO, unfortunately we only have MAIL access to the internet and not FTP (yet), how can I get some of these things (e.g. Xtanks?). Thanks for reponses (in advance), Be Seeing You, Alan -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Alan Whitton awhitton@bnr.ca OR Bell Northern Research awhitton%bnr.ca@cunyvm.cuny.edu (613) 763-8871 "I am not a number, I am a Free Man!"
